2009-2010 Community College Transition Scholarship
Program The application period has ended. Awards will be announced by April 10, 2009.
Each year NC Space Grant awards $2,000 scholarships to undergraduate students
who are transitioning from a two-year to a four-year institution and are
pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Selected students are required to conduct a series of campus interviews
that includes one with their NC Space Grant Campus Director, and three with
faculty members who are conducting aero/space-related research on their
campus. At the end of the academic year scholarship recipients submit a final report
detailing the aero/space-related research and education activities that are
conducted on their campus.
Applications are evaluated based upon the
student's academic achievement, letter of recommendation, and exhibited
leadership qualities.
