Each year NC Space Grant solicits proposals and applications from university personnel and students
to participate in the following programs:

Community College Transition Scholarship Program
Due: Each Spring
Max: $2,000

Provide funding for community college transition students who are entering a member institution to further their academic studies in science, technology, engineering, and math related disciplines.

Freshman/ Sophomore Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Due: Each Spring
Max: $1,000
|
Freshman/sophomore student scholarships awarded at member institutions promoting exploration of aero/space
related research activities.

Junior/Senior Undergraduate Research Scholarship Program
Due: Each Spring
Max: $5,500
|
Undergraduate student research scholarships awarded to Juniors/Seniors at member institutions promoting hands-on aero/space related research experiences at university labs, NASA centers, or commercial facilities.

J. Donald Cline Astronomy Scholarship
Due: Each Spring
Max: $10,000 academic support plus summer research stipend
|
Two year academic support for an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in the astronomical or related
sciences at a NC Space Grant member university. Also provides student with summer research experience at the
Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI).

Graduate Research Fellowship Program
Due: Each Spring
Max: $7,000
|
Graduate student research fellowships awarded at member institutions promoting hands-on aero/space
related research experiences at university labs, NASA centers, or commercial facilities.

New Investigations Program
Due: Each February
Max: $25,000
|
Provide startup funding to university personnel who are conducting research that is directly
aligned with NASA’s priorities and who have either yet to become established researchers
or are pursuing a significant change in research direction.

Higher Education Course Development Program
Due: Each February
Max: $10,000
|
Initiate interdisciplinary and/or distance learning courses increasing student's understanding
of complex aero/space issues.

K-12 Professional Development Program
Due: Each February
Max: $15,000
|
Develop and implement K-12 aero/space-related professional development activities.
|
Informal Education and Public Outreach Programs
Due: Each February
Max: $5,000
|
Develop and implement activities to increase the appreciation and knowledge of aero/space-related issues
of the general population of North Carolina
