NC Space Grant Membership Expansion Program Request for Proposals
Due: January 20, 2006
The North Carolina Space Grant (NC Space Grant) is currently soliciting
proposals from North Carolina Colleges and Universities to expand its
membership by up to three academic institutions. The NC Space Grant is a
consortium of universities, industry, government agencies and non-profit
organizations that are committed to addressing the nation's science,
technology, engineering and mathematics workforce development needs. NC
Space Grant inspires and facilitates students of all levels to pursue
aero/space-related careers through conducting scholarship programs and
other activities that promote hands-on career exploration.
NC Space Grant expects to make up to three awards, each for three years and
$60,000. After three years, it is expected that successful participants
will be funded on a yearly basis of $20,000 per year. Selected
universities will be eligible to compete with other members of the NC Space
Grant for $325,000 to $375,000 in program funds for student
fellowships/scholarships, research seed grants, higher education
initiatives and public outreach programs.
Institutions of higher education that meet the following eligibility
requirements may submit a proposal in response to this call.
- Accredited public or private college or university
- Located in North Carolina
- Conduct at least one bachelors program in any science,
technology, engineering or mathematics discipline
